Dr. Van Hoozen received his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa in 1986. He completed his Family Practice residency and additional training in obstetrics at Saginaw Cooperative Hospitals in Saginaw, Michigan.
He completed his training in 1992 and moved to the Fox Valley where he founded Valley Family Medicine. After more than 20 years, Dr. Van Hoozen continues to practice medicine in New London, and actively strives towards excellence in the medical care he provides.
He is a part of the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the State Medical Society of Wisconsin. He is also board certified in the sub-specialty of Addiction Medicine by The American Board of Preventive Medicine. The doctor works with many hospitals in the area:

- St Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton
Dr. Van Hoozen lives in the Fox Valley with his wife and two sons. He enjoys fishing, listening to national public radio, and cooking.
